Letting WattsWise steer your batteries

Version 2026-10-29 · Draft, to be checked before the public launch

By default WattsWise only watches: it reads your batteries and shows what they save, but changes nothing. If you turn steering on, WattsWise starts sending settings to your batteries. Please read what that means before you agree.

What WattsWise does when it steers

  • Every quarter of an hour WattsWise makes a plan from the electricity prices, the solar forecast and your settings: when to charge from the grid, when to hold, and when to let the batteries power the house.
  • To carry out that plan it switches your EcoFlow STREAM system to Self-Powered mode and sets its backup reserve (the level the batteries keep). That's all it changes. It never goes outside your own minimum and maximum charge levels, and never past the limits the batteries set themselves.
  • The plan is based on prices and forecasts. Forecasts can be wrong, prices can change, and other services can be down. The plan is WattsWise's best guess, not a promise.

What stays your responsibility

  • Your batteries, their installation and their safety. Their built-in protection always stays in charge; WattsWise doesn't change or bypass it.
  • Checking that steering suits your situation, your energy contract and your installation.
  • Keeping an eye on things, especially in the first days.

You can stop at any time

Choose Monitor only (or EcoFlow AI) under Settings → Who steers the batteries. WattsWise then stops sending settings right away. With Monitor only, the batteries keep the last backup reserve WattsWise set; with EcoFlow AI, EcoFlow takes over. You can also change the settings yourself in the EcoFlow app at any time, or revoke WattsWise's keys on EcoFlow's developer site.

No guarantee of savings, limited liability

Steering is meant to save you money, but WattsWise doesn't guarantee any saving. Sometimes it will cost more than doing nothing would have. As far as the law allows, WattsWise isn't liable for how your batteries behave, for damage to devices or installations, for lost savings or for higher energy costs as a result of steering. The liability terms in the terms of use apply.

Agreeing

By turning steering on you confirm that you've read this, that the batteries are yours or that you may control them, and that you agree to WattsWise steering them as described. We store which version you agreed to and when. If this text changes in a way that matters, we'll ask you again.
