Terms of use
Version 2026-10-29 · Draft, to be checked before the public launch
These terms apply when you use WattsWise, the app and the website at wattswise.eu. By creating an account you agree to them. They're short on purpose; if anything is unclear, email [email protected].
1. Who offers WattsWise
WattsWise is offered by Jeroen Priem, a private person in the Netherlands ("we"). Contact: [email protected].
2. What WattsWise is
WattsWise connects to services you use (Tibber, EcoFlow and optionally SolarEdge) to show your energy use, the prices and what your home batteries save. If you choose, it also steers your batteries by the electricity price. Steering has its own terms: the steering disclaimer, which you accept separately when you turn it on.
3. Free, and without guarantees
- WattsWise is free. We may ask for a payment in the future, but never without telling you first and letting you decide.
- We do our best to keep it running and correct, but we don't guarantee that it's always available, error-free or accurate. Prices, forecasts and savings are estimates based on data from other services.
- We may change WattsWise, or stop it. If we stop it, we'll tell you at least 30 days ahead where we can, so you can download your data.
4. Your account
- You need to be 18 or older and give a working email address.
- Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens with your account.
- One household can have several members. The owner decides who joins and can remove members.
5. Your connections and devices
- You only connect accounts and devices that are yours, or that you're allowed to use.
- The keys you give us are stored encrypted and only used for your household. You can revoke them at any time at the service that issued them.
- You stay responsible for your batteries, solar panels and other installations, and for following the instructions and terms of their makers and of your energy supplier.
- WattsWise depends on Tibber, EcoFlow and SolarEdge. If they change or stop their services, parts of WattsWise may stop working. We aren't responsible for those services.
6. Fair use
Don't misuse WattsWise: no attempts to get into other people's accounts or data, to overload or attack the service, or to use it for anything illegal. We may suspend or close an account that does, after warning you where we can.
7. Liability
WattsWise is offered free and as it is. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect damage, lost savings, higher energy costs, or damage to devices. Where we are liable, our liability is limited to € 100. This doesn't limit liability for intent or gross negligence, or anything else the law doesn't allow to be limited.
8. Ending
You can stop at any time by deleting your account in Settings. We can end your use with 30 days' notice, or right away for a serious breach of these terms.
9. Changes
We may change these terms. If a change matters, we tell you in the app at least 30 days before it applies. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.
10. Law
Dutch law applies. Disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless the law gives you the right to go to a court where you live.
